Got Stuff?
Want it to go where it will do the most good?
No problem! The Community of Historic Churches in Downtown Raleigh is holding its first annual GOT STUFF? Joint Donation Day on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Green Chair Project has offered its location at 1853 Capital Blvd. for the donation drop-off, and volunteers from all eight churches will be on hand to unload, process and sort donated items. At the end of the event, each church will collect those items that meet the needs of its particular outreach ministries. Everybody benefits: church members recycle their “stuff” and enable their neighboring churches to help their neighbors in Christ – those in need in the community and beyond.
The Community of Historic Churches in Downtown Raleigh began its collective existence in the spring of 2011 as a steering committee for the first annual Community Historic Church Walk held in October, 2011. Not only was the event a success, but the committee also realized just how much their churches have in common through their various outreach ministries and missions. In an effort to celebrate that commitment and to work jointly to benefit each others' outreach missions and ministries, the eight historic churches are excited to come together this spring to offer their congregations the opportunity to re-home “stuff” they no longer need while enhancing the outreach programs of their own church as well as those supported by their neighbors.
